John Thomas joined the Blue Ridge Realty team in 2012 with over 42 years of experience in the real estate business. Many people know John as the former co-owner of Lee and Thomas Real Estate, a leader for many years in High Country Real Estate.

John, an Eagle Scout, is a native of Charlotte, NC. After graduating with an Associate of Arts degree from Wingate College, he came to the Boone area and enrolled at Appalachian State University to continue his education. He became the ASU Football Team Captain, graduated with a degree in Sociology, and met his wife, Marsha.

Early in John’s career, he worked with the Carolina Caribbean Corporation the development company that founded the Beech Mountain Club, Ski Beech, and the surrounding residential community.

In 1982 he opened his own real estate office and worked in both the residential real estate market and land development and sales. He has been a licensed General Contractor.

John and his wife, a now retired Watauga County school teacher, have raised three boys in Boone and are now proud grandparents. For fun, John enjoys fly fishing, archery, and training/field trialing his two Llewellin Setters.

John is a REALTOR and licensed Broker in North Carolina.
